I’m a bit new to the lip tints trend. I’ve only had a couple in my possession and I’m very particular with what I use. I generally like creamier lip tints like this one, Mamonde Creamy Tint Color Balm Intense, because they’re much easier to remove.
Water lip tints like the Etude House Dear Darling Water Tints are very popular here in South Korea and among k-beauty cosmetic users. However, I find them too difficult to remove, so I opt out of using them. Why I like this tint too is because I don’t have to apply a clear gloss or balm to it. Since it’s mixed with lip balm compounds, it stays moist throughout the whole day!
This creamy lip tint is great for anyone who is looking for a long lasting color, but wants something that is removable at night when you’re ready to go to bed. It’s also matte and not glossy. I’m a big fan of that, so if you like matte lip products, then you’ll love this lip tint! Lastly, if you like having color with some moisture, then this tint will be perfect for you.
One thing I don’t like about this tint even though it’s supposed to be a “creamy tint” is that it still can feel a little dry when applying it. However, you are still able to blend and layer this product well, so that dryness can go away if you apply more product.
If you take a look at the picture below, you will see that a good amount of color came off after I had finished eating a meal. However, since this tint is matte, it still kept some color. Even my coworker mentioned that the color on my lips still showed after our dinner. All I had to do was re-apply the Creamy Tint color balm intense and my lips were back to perfection.
What I love about this creamy lip tint is that you can apply it easily in two ways!
- You can apply it in the ever so popular gradient lip color style. Since this is only one color, you can control the gradient easier. First, just add the color on the inside of your lips. I like applying more color on the bottom. Then you just smoosh your lips side to side to distribute the color horizontally. Make sure to not smoosh your lips up and down or else you might loose the gradient effect. Lastly, I just add more color to the inside again to give it more of an intense color.
- You can also use it as a full color cover lip tint. Since it’s creamy you can easily distribute the color evenly across your lips by pushing your lips together, using your finger, or by using a lip sponge or brush. Since the finish to this tint is matte, it doesn’t spider out of your lips and into the skin surrounding your lips. I always hate when that happens with other lipsticks or tints I’ve used.
Since this isn’t your typical tint, it adds a bit more moisture to your lips compared to other tint products out there. It’s not super hydrating, but it does offer some moisture protection to your lips, so you won’t feel the need to reapply until after you have a meal. This is the key difference between a creamy tint and the traditional water tints.
Since this product is highly pigmented, it covers your lips extremely well! A little really goes a long way especially if you’re trying to do gradient lips. Lastly, this tint is buildable. You can always add another layer of color to make it more vivid.
In the picture below I am showing you a picture of how easy it is to remove this lip tint with any lip makeup remover. I used Nature Republic’s Forest Garden Lip & Eye Remover Mild and one cotton pad to remove this lip tint. As you can see, the lip tint is fully removed. I believe it all came off because this lip tint is mixed with balm compounds (oils), which makes it easier to remove with a makeup remover.
The packaging for this tint is super simple and really easy to use. My only complaint is that the tube is really large in circumference, which means the creamy tint stick is really thick. Therefore, it can be a little challenging to apply the tint to your lips especially if you have smaller or thinner lips. The cap is long and almost goes halfway down the tube, so you don’t have to worry about the cap coming off and making a mess in your purse or bag. Lastly, to get more of the tint stick to come up, you just twist the bottom where the sample color of the tint is shown.
I would recommend keeping this in a cabinet or on a shelf that isn’t exposed to direct sunlight or heat so that the creamy lip tint doesn’t melt. I usually keep mine in my purse or makeup bag so it’s ready for me to use at any time.
