How to Create Gradient Lips in 4 Steps

Gradient Lip Tint

Step 1: Apply a nude lipstick or dab a bit of lip balm on your lips that matches with your own skin tone to make it appear natural.

Step 2: Grab a red or pink lipstick (of your preference) and apply it on the inner side of your lips. You can also use a separate brush to apply this.

Step 3: Smooth out the lipstick out by blending it with your fingers. You have to be careful not to dab it on the outer edge of your lips, otherwise you will lose the gradient effect.

Step 4: Lastly, apply the lip tint (of your choice) at the inner side of your lips, and blend it out using a cue tip or your finger. Apply more if it’s needed.

Gradation Lips Editor Tip

Editor’s Tips:

Apply the lip tint (of your preference) on the center of your lips like the picture shown above. Be sure to apply it closer to the inner lips (leaving out the outer edges), so that you can blend it out using a cue tip or your finger. This might be easier if the applicator is a sponge. If it’s not, don’t worry. You can do the same exact thing except put several dots in the center instead to smear it.
