The drama ‘My Daughter, Geum Sa Wol’ finally came to an end. You must be very exhausted from all the work you did for the past 6 months and putting in massive loads of emotions to the character…

Because it was a long drama, I lost about 5kg. My skin condition worsened as well. And especially since our skin is closely related to our emotions and psychological states, I’m trying to make my skin heal naturally with plenty of rest.

Heal naturally? What do you mean by that?

If you are not stressed and have a peaceful heart, your skin has no choice but to be in good condition. So whenever I feel that my skin condition is worsening, I go for a walk and try to relax.

So you discovered that secret tip accidentally through trial and error?

That’s right. A long time ago, I used to purchase expensive makeup products  thinking that it would help. However, I realized that naturally healing the skin was my ultimate solution that I found over experience. This is something I didn’t know when I was young, but now I consider this as a huge life learning tip.

As an actress, you don’t leave your troubled skin the way it is… or do you?

Actually, I don’t do anything to my skin when I have breakouts. When you have troubling breakouts, that means your skin is extremely exhausted. So I make sure to cleanse my face carefully and get enough sleep. If my skin feels too dry, I replace that by drinking a lot of water to keep my body hydrated.

Your beauty philosophy is very direct and exact. It seems like your beauty tip is to ’empty out skin waste rather than add skin waste’.

Especially for this drama, I did my own makeup. But I only ended up only applying the BB cream and lip product because I don’t like wearing heavy makeup. Normally, I just go out without putting on any base makeup or drawing my eyelashes. I focus more on cleansing my face thoroughly than applying makeup on a regular day basis.

Somehow I knew you would have a unique personal philosophy for choosing your own makeup products!

I always double check what the ingredients are in the makeup. I prefer having something that’s not aggressive but rather smooth and gentle on my skin. I only need two things for skincare: skin and lotion. When my skin becomes very dry, I just use camellia oil and don’t put on any cream type skin care products.
